How it Works

Precise Targeting:

ElectraMet technology operates on highly specific electrochemical principles to target and remove 99.99% of impurities from EV battery recycling streams and other material streams like ultra-pure chemistries.  The electrochemical process splits water to generate donor electrons while using a tightly controlled voltage differential to control where the electrons go.  Cu and Mn are the primary targets for EV battery recycling streams, while we can also address nuisance metals like Cd and others in various processes. 

Small Footprint, Big Impact:

 Due to specificity and efficiency, ElectraMet system operate on a greatly reduced footprint compared to solvent exchange, sulfide precipitation, and ion-exchange.  The same specificity allows single pass processing from ~100 mg/L to < 1 mg/L of Cu and Mn contaminants.  Based on your flow sheet, ElectraMet can replace traditional alternatives mentioned above to eliminate toxic gases and liquids, product rework due to either yield or purity issues, and need for secondary waste streams storage and treatment.
